HPD continuing to enforce health order

In an announcement Thursday afternoon, May 28, the city of Healdsburg affirmed its continued enforcement of Sonoma County’s health order. The message came on the heels of Sonoma County Sheriff Mark Essick’s announcement that the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) would be halting its enforcement of the order on June 1.

Second grade student reaches goal of reading one million words

A second-grade student at St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Healdsburg has given new meaning to the term “bookworm.”

Windsor Middle School’s promotion on wheels

Driving through—Students, staff and community members gathered on the morning of May 29 to celebrate the passage from eighth grade to high school. River shows its treacherous side

River denizens are in mourning over the death of 13-year-old Diego Rivas, who disappeared on Wednesday night, May 27, while swimming in the river. Rivas was last seen swimming in the river at 10:30 p.m. in the area of Canyon 1 Road in Rio Nido.

County issues joint statement from sheriff and supervisors

Last week in an open letter to Sonoma County residents, published on Facebook, Sonoma County Sheriff Mark Essick announced that his department would no longer enforce the county’s shelter-in-place order.
