Senior center celebrates pizza day
                    PIZZA PIE — The Healdsburg Senior Center celebrated pizza on Feb. 3 with a blind pizza taste test of local pizzas in honor of National Pizza Day (yes there is a day to celebrate the love of pizza). Participants rated pizzas based on crust, sauce, toppings, appearance and flavor.

            North Healdsburg Avenue design process moving forward
                    Improvements to north Healdsburg Avenue are one step closer to reality after the Healdsburg City Council instructed city staff to move forward with a partial design of the preferred concept plan for a tree-lined Healdsburg Avenue with reduced travel lanes along the Powell and Parkland Farms stretch, protected bike lanes for cyclists, protected sidewalks and an emergency access lane.                
                
            Measure G sales tax would bolster fire services
                    Following multiple years of wildfires and a sense that this is in fact “the new normal,” it seems like an ideal time to pitch a sales tax increase to cover revamping and expanding fire services. However, plans for change and expansion have been in the works prior to the current sense of urgency. On the March ballot, Measure G, if approved, will add a half-cent to sales tax throughout the county.
