Cloverdale pool updates getting back on track
Updates to Cloverdale’s public pool have been a long time coming. After work was stalled for several years due to the pool needing code improvements, an injection of funds from Sonoma County’s Capital Improvement Plan has reinvigorated the renovation effort.
River shows its treacherous side
River denizens are in mourning over the death of 13-year-old Diego Rivas, who disappeared on Wednesday night, May 27, while swimming in the river. Rivas was last seen swimming in the river at 10:30 p.m. in the area of Canyon 1 Road in Rio Nido.
Sculptor Spotlight: T Barny
T Barny of Healdsburg is exhibiting with his sculpture “Spokes” in the Cloverdale Sculpture Trail. His sculpture “Spokes” consists of three metal wagon wheels with mirrors in the center of each patinaed metal wheel. This is a departure from his usual choice of material, stone. T Barny has worked with many materials, including glass and bronze, yet, he returns to his first love, stone. He has carved 205 individual types of stone from around the world.
70% of county’s residents aged 12 and older have received at least one COVID vaccine dose
Seven out of 10 Sonoma County residents age 12 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and more than 300,000 residents have been partially vaccinated, according to an announcement from Sonoma County health officials on May 28.

Healdsburg Hospital gets $2.2 million for new MRI
Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County’s board chair, Barbara Grasseschi, presented a check to Healdsburg District Hospital board members in the amount of $2.2 million for the hospital’s purchase of a permanent MRI to serve the residents of northern Sonoma County.
