Has there ever been such a fraught election? The aura of uncertainty that hung over the Democratic Primary dogged many west county voters all the way to polling place, with many undecided until the last minute.

Good things come to an end

COVID-19, the coronavirus, comes to Sonoma County

COVID-19, a novel strain from the family of coronaviruses, is now in Sonoma County, but the impacts are still uncertain, and the county has declared a local health emergency to prepare for the worst.

Analy teacher is new budget chief

Analy finance teacher Jeff Ogston has been chosen as the new chief business officer for the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD). The board approved his appointment at its meeting on Feb. 19.

West Side Union School District’s Measure F projected to pass in close call race

Measure F, a $7.5 million general obligation bond (G.O.) for West Side School improvements and facility updates, projected to pass Tuesday night in a close race with 57.20% of the “yes” votes and 42.80% the “no” votes according to the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters. In order to pass the bond required a 55% supermajority vote.

Russian River dam inflated early due to February drought

Due to a dry February and warm temperatures, the Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) today began the process of inflating its rubber dam located in the Russian River near Forestville. The rubber dam is a critical component of the Russian River water supply system that provides naturally filtered drinking water to more than 600,000 residents in portions of Sonoma and Marin counties.

Measure H projected to pass

Healdsburg’s Measure H, a measure that seeks to alter some of the language in the city’s Growth Management Ordinance (GMO) to allow for the sale in addition to the rental of a number of income-restricted units, projected to pass Tuesday night with 65.60% of the “yes” votes and 34.40% of the “no” votes according to the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters.
