CalFire Battalion Chief and Geyserville Fire Chief Marshall Turbeville wasn’t the first person on the scene when the Kincade Fire first made its appearance in the eastern hills above Alexander Valley on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 23. A Napa County fire unit beat him there, but as he followed the column of smoke through the valley and up into the mountains toward the Geysers geo-thermal plant, he remembers feeling distinctly ill at ease.

This is an update on evacuation orders and warnings from the Kincade Fire via Nixle.

The fire evacuation drill that was scheduled for the Fitch Mountain area on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 2, has been canceled. No new time for the drill has been confirmed at this time.

The Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds was home to this year's annual Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 31, giving kids the opportunity to trick-or-treat out of the trunks of community members' decorated cars. 

Big John's Market at 1345 Healdsburg Ave. (corner of Dry Creek Road) plans to reopen to the public at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 following the recent days of power outage and wildfire evacuations.

When Lupe Lopez’s boyfriend and his family the Lagunas’ evacuated from their Milk Barn Road property in Healdsburg Saturday night, Oct. 27, the family brought minimal supplies and belongings with them, thinking they’d be able to return in a few days.
