Public sessions on Local Coastal Plan begin on Oct. 26
Sonoma County’s Pacific coastline is a mostly public and pristine landscape of bluffs, beaches, redwood forests and a sprinkling of small settlements at Bodega Bay, Jenner, Timber Cove, Fort Ross, Stewart’s Point and Sea Ranch. This preservation of open space and free public access did not happen by accident. It took nearly a decade of local citizen action to stave off development forces and future negative impacts.
River area ponders washed-out roads and escape routes
Dealing with flood-prone winter roads was a hot topic at the Oct. 17 meeting of the Lower Russian River Municipal Advisory Council, . County officials were on hand to talk about what the county could and could not do to keep roads open. They shared some good news and bad.
UPDATE: Sexual assault suspect arrested
UPDATE: On Oct. 18, at about 9 p.m., the Healdsburg Police Department made an arrest on a male transient sought on suspicion of sexually battery against a female jogger on Oct. 13.
Bear Republic to close Healdsburg location
