Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District Chief Marshall Turbeville, who’s also a CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit battalion chief, has been named as one of the three recipients of the prestigious National Wildfire Mitigation Award.
Burn permit suspension lifted
Effective Monday, Nov. 23 at 8 a.m. the burn permit suspension in Sonoma, Lake, Napa and Solano counties will be lifted. CalFire Sonoma Lake Napa Unit Chief Shana Jones is formally canceling the burn permit suspension and advises those possessing valid CalFire and air quality burn permits can now resume burning on permissible burn days.

Originally meant to be from noon to 4 p.m. the Posada ended later because of the number of people who turned out. Community members enjoyed live banda, Aztec dancing, food vendors and Latinx-owned businesses to shop from, as well as COVID-19 vaccines from Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa.
