Jazz fest starts student-focused campus

The Healdsburg Jazz Festival will bring it home from May 31 to June 9.

Farm trail leaders meet

Members and supporters of the Sonoma County Farm Trails gathered at Occidental's Union Hotel on Feb. 7 for the nonprofit's annual meeting. Executive director Carmen Snyder provided an overview of the previous year while acknowledging the volunteer work and business sponsorships that continue to support the direct-to-consumer agriculture marketing network of farms, producers and associate members including wineries and restaurants. Farm Trails coordinates a full year of marketing activities and special events, culminating with the Gravenstein Apple Fair in August.

How the county’s homeless count works

Two hundred volunteers from all walks of life spread out through Sonoma County last Thursday for the county’s annual visual count of the homeless. With them were 70 to 80 homeless guides — currently or recently homeless individuals who the county pays $15 an hour to help with the count each year.

Old cars and good times: Cars show and street fair to fund growing auto program

Classic cars, music and food will be featured at the annual Healdsburg High School Car Show and Street Fair. It will be the fourth year for the event and is expected to have the biggest turnout yet.
