PG&E conducting line inspections using drones and helicopters
Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) is conducting its updated system inspections program in Sonoma County using drones and helicopters along electric transmission lines.
Windsor Town Council discussing district elections and parklet extensions
At this week’s Windsor Town Council meeting, council members will hear the result of a highly-anticipated racial polarization study, formally extend the parklet program through two actions and authorize Mayor Sam Salmon or another designee to vote at an upcoming meeting of the Sonoma County Mayors’ and Councilmembers’ Association (SCMCA). The council meeting is being held on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m., and the full meeting agenda can be found here.
COVID cases rising in Windsor
Thanks to the Delta variant, COVID infection and hospitalization stats are rising around the country and county, but Windsor in particular is showing a spike, with the third highest percentage of active cases — 9% — of all ZIP codes in the county.
Jury covers quakes, health
The Sonoma County Civil Grand Jury tackled several big issues this year, including health treatment in the county jail, protecting local water systems against earthquakes, problems with the county’s mental health budget and the chronic neglect of county-owned properties. Last week, we looked at the report on health care in the county jail. This week, we’ll briefly review the other topics.Â
