On Oct. 10, people from North Bay Jobs with Justice gathered at the Healdsburg Plaza to hold a Puesto Popular/Farmstand for Justice to raise awareness about their “5 for farmworkers in fires” campaign which calls for better working conditions and language justice for Sonoma County farmworkers.

Some Sebastopol Police Department computers restored, compromise still being investigated

Most of the Sebastopol Police Department’s (SPD) computer systems have been restored since the July 11 compromise that’s still under investigation, according to Sebastopol Police Chief Kevin Kilgore. Law enforcement will wait until the investigation’s end to determine whether the incident amounts to a cyberattack, he said.

5.5-acre vegetation fire near Sebastopol city limits contained

A small vegetation fire burning near Sebastopol is contained, according to fire officials. The fire burned about 5.5 acres of mowed grass on a property owned and maintained by the city of Santa Rosa, according to Paul Lowenthal, assistant fire marshal of the Santa Rosa Fire Department.

County supervisors approve additional COVID outreach to underserved communities

At their meeting on Oct. 20, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to allocate approximately $4 million to support an enhanced series of strategies to assist with outreach to COVID-19 case curbing in at-risk communities.

WSCUHSD aims shift to hybrid model instruction in mid-April
