Commentary: Progress toward recovery and resiliency
The past year has been one of the most taxing that we’ve faced together. The October fires took 24 lives from us. It burned more than 173 square miles and rendered almost 7,000 homes and businesses into ash. It was a disaster in every sense. Last October, I was devastated by the losses of my friends, family and neighbors throughout Sonoma County.
Get to know your city council candidates
On the Nov. 6 ballot, there will be six candidates vying for three spots on the Cloverdale City Council. The city council election comes around every other year and is on a rotating election schedule (of the five council spots, two were elected during the last city council election and three are being elected this year); during the 2016 election, Councilmembers Melanie Bagby and Mary Ann Brigham were voted into office.

County septic policy meeting Oct. 10 at Villa
The County of Sonoma is updating regulations for septic systems in order to meet state mandates that protect water quality and public health. Permit Sonoma invites the public to attend upcoming community meetings to share feedback on the proposed Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Manual.
