Following a discussion on state housing laws in a joint city council and planning commission session July 14, Cloverdale city officials heard a presentation on potential methods of increasing mixed-use residential development in the downtown area.

11:28am An accident with property damage was reported on Hwy 101 at Dry Creek Road. A Healdsburg officer located a damaged vehicle in the No. 1 lane and waited for California Highway Patrol to arrive. The officer searched the area for the suspect vehicle, but it was gone on arrival and unable to be located.
Sonoma County Regional Parks looking into changing up the summer dam system at Vets Memorial Beach
The Sonoma County Regional Parks department is in the early stages of exploring an idea to turn the seasonal summer dam at Healdsburg Veteran’s Memorial Beach into a series of about 18 inches of drops, which would create four mini pools for lazy river-style tubing, family-friendly swimming and fishing.

Youth protest in Sebastopol against Daunte Wright’s killing
Roughly 20 people gathered in front of the Westamerica Bank at the intersection of Main Street and Bodega Avenue late Friday afternoon, April 16, in Sebastopol. They gathered to protest the killing of Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man fatally shot by police during a traffic stop on April 11 by then-police officer Kimberly Potter in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
