Arrest made after Sebastopol man drives hijacked truck into local business
A suspect believed to have seized a pickup truck from a Sebastopol business on Jan. 22 and then returned that evening to crash through the front of the building and steal money has since been arrested and released from jail, according to the Sonoma Sheriff’s Facebook on Jan. 24.

Remembrance and Respect—The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. was on display in Windsor from March 28 to 31. On Saturday, March 30, Chief Carlos Basurto led a brief ceremony with speakers that included a Gold Star widow, a reading of names of Sonoma County residents memorialized on the wall (59 in total) followed a 59 second moment of silence to remember them, and then a bagpiper playing Amazing Grace.

Two schools get summer facelift
The line of redwoods that created a corridor from the main entrance, Prince Avenue, to the colorfully muraled Smith Robinson Gym is now gone. One of the dozen trees toppled over in a recent windstorm—no one was hurt and there was no damage, but it made all the more clear the importance of dealing with the hazard.
