Local musicians set to perform at virtual Sonoma County’s Got Talent
Several notable Sonoma County musicians will perform virtually next Saturday, Aug. 8 in an online variety show hosted by the Occidental Center for the Arts (OCA).

Sprucing up the Plaza
City of Healdsburg public works employees replaced the pavers on the corner of the Plaza this week, removing roots underneath that were making the walkway uneven. Portions of the Plaza grass are also still closed for winter re-seeding that occurs annually to strengthen the turf after a summer of heavy use.
Peaceful Protest
Enough—On June 1 and 2, protesters gathered on the Town Green between 3 and 6 p.m. to demand equity and action in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man, at the hands of white police officers. While social media posts and activity in Santa Rosa prompted some local fears, the group that gathered on the Green was peaceful and supportive, chanting and inciting passing cars to honk in support. Mayor meets with high school students
Mayor meeting at the high school — Student journalists from the Hounds Bark at Healdsburg High School arranged a Q&A and discussion meeting with Healdsburg Mayor David Hagele on Feb. 27. Hounds Bark editor-in-chief Emma Tremont said she wanted to give students a chance to find out what’s happening around town and what Hagele’s role is as mayor.
