From Healdsburg to Monterey — Bay Area’s jazz wave is spreading
The wave of jazz music that just washed over the North Bay during the 10 days of the Healdsburg Jazz Festival will continue to ascend and flow all summer throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, culminating, as it’s done every year since 1958 at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Sept. 16-18.

The RP at Healdsburg Gas Mart on Healdsburg Avenue indicated that a woman went into the store and asked the RP to have sex with her in the bathroom. She was with a man in a vehicle. Officers responded and arrested a 28-YO woman for being under the influence of a controlled substance, public intoxication and violating probation. She was transported to county jail.
Local salons adjust to opening with limited capacity
As Healdsburg hair salons start getting used to reopening, many are trying to strike a balance between rescheduling the mass list of clients who had appointments scheduled when the county’s shelter-in-place order was issued, and meeting or exceeding the guidelines set forth by the county and the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
Spring carnival coming to Cloverdale
The carnival is coming to Cloverdale. Beginning Thursday, May 6, and running through Sunday, May 9, Butler Amusements — the carnival operator behind the games and rides usually at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair — will be back in Cloverdale.
County creating redistricting commission
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors announced earlier this week that it’s establishing a 15-member commission to aid the supervisors in redrawing supervisorial district boundaries, once it receives results from the 2020 Census. Those who are interested in applying to join the commission, which is expected to start meeting in May, have until March 23 to fill out an application.
