Museum presents preservation awards
This year’s Histroic Preservation Awards were presented on Jan. 18 by Fran Schierenbeck, chair of the Museum’s Historic Preservation Committee. The Commercial Historic Restoration award went to Mike and Chris Welty for their building at 141 North Street. The Residential Historic Preservation award was given to Therese Shere and Eric Monrad for the Wilson House at 7566 Eastside Road.
Drought persists as warmer, high pressure dry spell moves in
Despite the recent rain systems that have passed through, Sonoma County is still experiencing a severe drought and with a high-pressure stream and higher temps expected for early next week, there isn’t much rain in sight for the coming weeks.
New head of North Bay Army recuiting company
1st Sgt. Eric Wroblewski was recently appointed to lead the North Bay Recruiting Company, which consists of seven recruiting centers and 40 soldiers who are responsible for recruiting for the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve. The company covers Mendocino, Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties.

Stage face-off: Revenge vs. rivalry
Local audiences seeking a solid presentation of an American theatrical classic have two very diverse options right now. The Raven Performing Arts Theater hosts Stephen Sondheim’s massive macabre musical, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," while The 222 offers Sam Shepard’s more intimate fraternal drama, "True West." Both run in Healdsburg through Nov. 8.
