Sprucing up the Plaza

City of Healdsburg public works employees replaced the pavers on the corner of the Plaza this week, removing roots underneath that were making the walkway uneven. Portions of the Plaza grass are also still closed for winter re-seeding that occurs annually to strengthen the turf after a summer of heavy use.

Public life goes dark

One month ago, all of Sonoma County’s “public life” was put off limits. No schools, locked parks, barricaded beaches, no dining out or casual shopping trips. Gathering places where conversations and friendships get shared are taboo. Libraries, coffee shops, brewpubs, art galleries and any space smaller than six feet square, are now officially declared uninhabitable.

Jimenez appointed to mayoral seat, Kelley to serve as vice mayor

Despite going late into the night after a long agenda and a raucous start to the meeting, in the annual reshuffling of the council seats, the Healdsburg City Council selected Vice Mayor Ozzy Jimenez as the new mayor of Healdsburg following a unanimous vote and a nomination by Mayor Evelyn Mitchell. Councilmember Ariel Kelley will serve as the city’s vice mayor.
