COVID-19 Rent Relief portal now open to both renters and landlords
Californians who have experienced a financial hardship because of the pandemic and who are most at-risk of eviction can now apply for the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief program to help pay past due rent.
Gallery: Student-led protest calls for justice and equality
Healdsburg High School junior Izabel Soto organized a protest calling for racial justice and equality on Friday evening, June 26. Students, families and young activists marched from the high school parking lot, down Matheson Street to the Plaza and down Center Street past the Healdsburg Police Department holding handmade signs and chanting phrases such as, “Black Lives Matter,” and “No justice, no peace.”
First Responders in Cloverdale
First responders working on the Sonoma County branches of the LNU Lightning Complex Fire have been staying at areas around the county, including in Cloverdale.
Car chase ends in death in custody
A Petaluma man, David Glen Ward, 52, was driving through west county in his own car in the early hours of Wednesday, Nov. 27, when he was mistaken for a carjacker and died after a struggle with Sonoma County sheriffs and Sebastopol police.
Bobcats, mountain lions sighted around Fitch Mountain
According to a number of posts on the social media page “What’s Happening Healdsburg” by several Fitch Mountain residents and neighbors, there have been several recent bobcat and mountain lion sightings throughout the area.
