A blessing for a safe journey

Bell's Ambulance, which has served north Sonoma County for 60 years, has never put a new ambulance into service without first having it blessed by a priest. Above, Father Sean Rogers of St. John the Baptist Church blessed Bell's new rig Tuesday morning. He later blessed Pamela and Wayne Bell, who run the business founded by their parents. The new ambulance went into service immediately, stationed at the Bell's office in Windsor.

After having reached consensus at the fourth public hearing on March 17 that what has been termed Map A best represented the interests of the city in crafting five separate districts, the expectation was that the council would make a final perfunctory review, then move to adopt and accept that finalize the map. Mayor Mitchell had other ideas.

Applications open for two city commissions

Applications are currently open for seats on two of Cloverdale’s commissions. One position is available for the Sonoma County Library Commission and one alternate position is available on the Planning Commission. Applications for both are due Monday, Feb. 15.

In Sebastopol, peace can be found in more than just Peacetown concerts — it can also be found around town in a select number of peace poles, which sit in front of some homes or downtown, in front of Screamin’ Mimis. A new peace pole was recently installed in front of a house on Florence Avenue.
