WSCUHSD board meeting canceled due to lack of quorum
Tonight’s first board meeting back in person of the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD) board has been canceled and postponed.
Clarifying what makes a tough budget
While Healdsburg District Hospital (HDH) appreciates the visibility the Healdsburg Tribune affords us, there were several errors and omissions from the article titled, “Hospital adopts tough budget” (Feb. 11, 2015). I would like to clarify a few of the points I feel may be misleading to both our community and our hospital staff. Some points may seem innocuous, but for those whose daily work revolves around the hospital and those who have lent financial support to our ongoing efforts, clarity is needed.
Healdsburg Fire Department open house Saturday
To celebrate Fire Prevention Week, the Healdsburg Fire Department will host its annual open house on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All families and friends are invited to meet fire department personnel, watch live demonstrations, participate in fire extinguisher training, and have lunch with Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey Bear. The fire department staff will be available to teach children about fire safety, exiting, smoke alarms, creating escape plans and calling 911. Agencies invited to participate are the police department, Bell’s Ambulance and Cal Fire. Friends and family are invited.
Healdsburg Junior High’s GSA thrives after six years
For over six years, Healdsburg Junior High School’s Gender & Sexualities Alliance (GSA) club has been a safe haven for several students who were looking for a place of support — now the club has evolved into so much more.
A fire diary, one year later
On Oct. 8, 2017, my son celebrated his eighth birthday with four friends who all had birthdays within a few days of each other. We moms had decided this group party was the easiest way to celebrate, and the Epicenter on Coffey Lane has virtually everything a kid could want for their birthday shenanigans. They partied in the arcade, downed copious pizza, played laser tag and sang “Happy Birthday” over their custom Pokémon birthday cake.

Tues. Feb. 18: The director of Marine Layer Wines on Center Street reported that a person was living in front of the business and his possessions were accumulating. At the time of the call, the man was in front of Downtown Bakery. The RP planned to call back if the man returned to Marine Layer Wines, to possibly file trespassing paperwork against the man....
