CHAG SAMEACH — The Sonoma County Chabad Jewish Center hosted a menorah lighting in Healdsburg on Sunday night, Dec. 29. The lighting marked the last night of Hannukah. Rabbi Mendel Wolvovsky (left) led candle-holding attendees in Hannukah prayer as he lit Chabad’s large, traveling menorah.
Cloverdale’s user utility tax extension on track to pass
Cloverdale’s user utility tax extension, Measure R, is on track to pass, according to initial election results from the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters. While election results haven’t been updated by the registrar since Thursday, Nov. 5, the measure has received 1,760 (53.87%) of the “yes” vote and 1,507 (46.12%) of the “no” vote. It needs a simple majority to pass.

Local nonprofit finds new ways to bring art activities to kids
On June 1, Healdsburg nonprofit Heartizens launched a new virtual summer camp for kids called the “Heartizens Includitude Project,” (HIP) where kids can get art creation kits with supplies to follow along in a series of creative art projects intended to keep kids occupied and engaged in the arts this summer.
Arista Winery Sells Healdsburg Tasting Room
The recent trend of local wineries reducing costs by selling off their prime Healdsburg properties — including Thumbprint, Ketcham, Truett Hurst and Comstock, off the top of my head — continues this winter with the McWilliams family’s Arista Winery and tasting room on Westside Road.
