Three Healdsburg High athletics teams made their NCS playoff entrance, and exit, last Wednesday after we went to press. The girls basketball team, and both girls and boys soccer teams, made it into the playoffs, but their post-season ended quickly in all cases. 

The Cloverdale Eagles are breathing rarified air this week, representing the No. 1 seed in the 16-team CIF Nor Cal State Basketball Tournament.

Local high school baseball teams are nearing the finish line in Sonoma County League play this week, as both Analy and El Molino look to position themselves for protracted postseason runs.

The varsity Lions and Tigers are nearing the halfway mark on the spring hardball circuit, both emerging from a wet March with solid win-loss records.

Local challenge — Windsor residents Tiffany Bronzan and her friend Lisa Langdale, are avid distance runners, and this summer they set out on what they dubbed "The Windsor Challenge":  to run the length of every public road in the town of Windsor. While the actual "road mileage" was something like 78 miles, according to Broznan’s husband Brandon, with all the routes and back tracking the challenge took around 250 miles to complete it. 

The El Molino boys soccer team has local bragging rights over neighboring Analy for the first time in over two decades, completing a season sweep over the Tigers with an exciting, 3-2 win on Feb. 7.
