A new one-time fire impact fee will be imposed on new developments in Windsor on behalf of the Sonoma County Fire District (SCFD).

Resident arrested for suspected sex crimes, distribution and possession of child pornography

A Healdsburg resident was arrested on Sept. 3 for suspected sex crimes. Nelson Herrera Soriano, 28, was booked in jail on charges of communicating with a minor with the intent of committing a sex crime and possession and distribution of obscene material of a child under 14 years of age.

Update: According to the Cloverdale Police Department, the death appears to be from natural causes and there was no evidence of foul play. The identity of the individual could not be released as of 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 9, since the police department hadn't received confirmation that next of kin has been notified.

Local Girl Scouts learn about car care

According to the Girl Scout Law, Girl Scouts must ‘Make the World a Better Place.’ Recently, Dale Johnson, owner of All-Around Auto Windsor, made the world a better place, and acted in accordance with both the Girl Scout Promise and Law by offering a free car care course to Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts in Northern California. Johnson is not only the owner of All-Around Auto Windsor, he is a husband father, and grandfather; when his children were younger, they also participated in scouting.
