17 years of sculptures in Cloverdale

Cloverdale Boulevard underwent a major transformation and face-lift in the central business district in 2003. In conjunction with the revamping of Cloverdale Boulevard in 2003, a public art project turned the boulevard construction site into a work of art. The K-rails running the length of Cloverdale Boulevard in the downtown area were transformed into undulating waves of construction materials that brought interest and activity to the downtown area during the renovation.

Students, staff and faculty at West County High School (WCHS) are safe and sound after a rumor that a student had a gun led Sebastopol police and the school administration to lock down the campus Thursday morning, Sept. 9.

Windsor Chili Cook-Off returns this weekend

Windsor is holding its 8th annual Chili Cook-Off this Saturday, complete with live music, activities and, of course, all the chili one could want. The event is on Sept. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Windsor Town Green.

City looking for public feedback on roadway safety plan

The city of Healdsburg is working on a draft local road safety plan (LRSP) and is seeking public input. The public review and input period for the draft plan ends on Sept. 19.

Cloverdale council discussing Chamber of Commerce funding, garbage rates at Wednesday meeting

The Cloverdale City Council is tackling a small agenda at its meeting this week on Wednesday, Sept. 8. The council will be holding a public hearing to amend the Cloverdale Municipal Code to establish regulation on wireless telecommunication facilities and, as regular business items, will consider adopting a funding agreement with the Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce for the 2021-22 year. The council will also be giving direction on who to appoint as the voting delegate for the California League of Cities’ annual conference and will be approving the maximum allowable solid waste, composting and recycling rates per the city’s agreement with Recology.

West County High School shooting threat considered ‘not credible’ by police so far

Local police have opened an investigation into a shooting threat West County High School (WCHS) staff learned had been posted on Instagram Monday evening, Sept. 6, according to Sebastopol Police Chief Kevin Kilgore. He said the Sebastopol Police Department’s (SPD) investigation determined the threat was likely intended for WCHS, but probably not one made in seriousness.
