Healdsburg moves to second stage of water emergency plan
The city of Healdsburg is requiring a 20% reduction in water use system-wide. The Healdsburg City Council voted unanimously to implement Stage 2 of its Water Shortage Emergency Plan on May 3, brought on by a significant drought.
Cloverdale City Council discussing council vacancy, drought conditions
At its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 12, the Cloverdale City Council will discuss its newly vacant council seat, consider proclaiming a local emergency due to drought conditions and annual assessments for Landscaping and Lighting Assessment District Zones 1-7. The council will also reorganize, selecting a mayor for the term ending in December 2021 and appointing a vice mayor, if necessary. Over half of county’s eligible population now fully vaccinated, students now getting their turn
The County of Sonoma announced on May 5 that over half of the county’s 16 and older population is now fully vaccinated. In addition, more than two-thirds of the 411,000 eligible residents have received at least one shot, according to county officials. In reaching these milestones, the county has outpaced the state and the nation in the rate of vaccine doses administered, according to a county press release.
Rivera named interim director of Sonoma County Department of Health Services
Tina Rivera — an administrator with over 25 years of experience in government and nonprofit work — has been named the interim director of the Sonoma County Department of Health Services following the departure of Barbie Robinson, the former county health services director.
