Local libraries reopen for part-time, in-person service
The Sonoma County Library began the process of slowly reopening for in-person patronage last week. Patrons are encouraged to make a reservation through the library’s online form for one of the library’s hourlong “express service” sessions. Eleven regional libraries will be opening their doors twice a day for one hour each. With the exception will be the Central Library in Santa Rosa, which will be open seven days a week, the rest of the county’s libraries will be open Monday through Saturday.
Misleading claims about cannabis
There are several misleading claims in Ron Ferraro’s April 28 op-ed, Cultivating Cannabis in Sonoma County. The public hearing process is not normally a three to five year process. If the county and the industry had not brazenly decided on cannabis regulations without listening to or responding to neighborhood concerns, cannabis applications would have moved much more quickly through the system.

The carnival is coming to Cloverdale. Beginning Thursday, May 6, and running through Sunday, May 9, Butler Amusements — the carnival operator behind the games and rides usually at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair — will be back in Cloverdale.

It appears the fourth time is the charm for Rosa Reynoza, as early returns show her with a strong lead in initial tallies.

Fire Safe Sonoma is hosting a set of workshops in early May to solicit input on the update of the Sonoma County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), which was last updated in 2016.
