Sonoma County secured $500,000 in state grant money mid-April to fund a study exploring alternative wastewater disposal options for the Monte Rio and Villa Grande communities along the lower Russian River, according to an April 19 press release from the California State Water Resources Control Board.

Former mayor Jason Turner resigned from his council post on May 4.

Sheriff’s Henry-1 deployed in pursuit of motorcyclist, arrest made in Graton
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office sent its helicopter Henry-1 into the air to assist patrol deputies in chasing a motorcyclist from west Santa Rosa through west county that concluded in an arrest in Graton Saturday night, May 1, according to a 10:33 p.m. post on the Sonoma Sheriff Facebook page that night.
