In a statement released Thursday, April 29, the town of Windsor announced it had accepted a Notice of Intention to recall Mayor Dominic Foppoli.
Administrators and WSCUHSD community dispute use of state and federal funds
Community members working to urge the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD) to prolong its decision regarding high school consolidation have repeatedly claimed that incoming COVID-19 relief funds can be used to help prevent the merger this fall. However, local education officials have disputed the claims, insisting that state and federal funds coming in for COVID-19 relief wouldn’t allow the district to use the funds to make up for non-COVID-related costs.
Commentary: Cultivating cannabis in Sonoma County
The Sonoma County Supervisors are considering an update to the county cannabis cultivation ordinance. It would allow for ministerial permits for cultivation through the agricultural commissioner, if one qualifies, instead of a 3-5-year public hearing process. Staff has come up with very restrictive policy, and documented no significant environmental impacts due to the limited amount of potential available acreage.

CUSD discussing summer school, middle school administration at Wednesday meeting
At a special meeting this Wednesday, April 28, the Cloverdale Unified School District (CUSD) Board of Trustees will be tackling a short, yet weighty agenda. The trustees will be discussing summer school, as well as eliminating the vice principal position at Washington School (instead creating a middle school dean position) and will be taking final action regarding the decision to not re-employ some district certificated staff.
