Help first responders evacuate neighborhoods quickly during a disaster

The Cloverdale Police Department is giving folks the opportunity to turn in expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday. The event, held in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 24.

With schools across Sonoma County reopening after a yearlong closure, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin is working alongside school districts to provide the necessary support to families in the new hybrid learning format, according a statement from the club.

At the April 20 meeting of the Windsor Unified School District Board of Trustees, there will be a few agenda items, common to the district, and few that are likely unimaginable to any previous board members.

It almost doesn’t matter what’s on the agenda for the April 21 meeting of the Windsor Town Council. The big question isn’t what’s the council discussing, as much as which council members will be in attendance and will there be a quorum available to take any action.

The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) arrested Peter Duranceau, 25, of Occidental, on April 15 following an investigation that found Duranceau to be the suspect in a sexual assault case involving a minor, as well as one where he’s suspected of trying to arrange a meeting with a minor with the intent to engage in sexual conduct.

At a special meeting this week, Cloverdale’s planning commission will be reviewing a presentation about the city’s downtown zoning, conducting a study session on opportunities related to updating downtown zoning and reviewing possible sites for further downtown development. The conversation is one of the first steps toward potentially updating zoning in the downtown area. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.
