The members of Healdsburg’s Noon Rotary got a lesson in “living with lions” (the original name for Quinton Martins’ mountain lion research project, now run in association with Audubon Canyon Ranch), when Ami Bluestone showed up to preview “The Path of Puma-36,” a short movie she made about tracking a collared lion on his search for a place to live in the North Bay.

The Healdsburg Police Department is once again participating in the REDCOM Sonoma County canned food drive. Through Dec. 17 people are encouraged to drop off non-perishable foods to the Healdsburg Police Department lobby on Center Street.

When the Time Comes
At the end of 2025, the Healdsburg City Council approved 'When the Time Comes,' a new program designed to help residents navigate end-of-life planning and support. The WTTC program gets underway this month, a resource hub at the Senior Center handling questions, concerns and complexities related to the final decisions an individual or a family must make.

One person has filed application for vacant council seat in Cloverdale

As of Wednesday afternoon, May 25, the city of Cloverdale has only received one application for its vacant Cloverdale City Council seat. According to city clerk Irene Camacho-Werby, council veteran Joe Palla is the only person who has turned in an application thus far.

Employee agreements and school reopening at forefront of Thursday’s CUSD meeting

The Cloverdale Unified School District Board of Trustees is holding a special meeting this Thursday, Nov. 5, a departure from its usual Wednesday meetings. Housekeeping items relating to distance learning are scheduled to take up the bulk of the agenda, though district trustees are also expected to consider and take possible action to appoint someone to the Measure H Citizen’s Oversight Committee. An agenda item on every meeting since the summer, the board will also be reviewing the district’s school reopening plan. Residents, council members call for climate action during Healdsburg goal review

While several of the city council’s adopted 2021-22 fiscal year goals have been delayed due to funding, staffing and emergency response to COVID-19 and drought, the city has accomplished several goals such as completing the Foss Creek pathway extension and collaborating with the county on a regional homeless plan that provides for a north county shelter or navigation center.
