West County TOT ties the fates of west county emergency services, schools, hotels together

Voters will decide whether to levy an additional 4% transient occupancy tax (TOT) for guests of west county hotels and vacation rentals to increase funding for coastal emergency services and west county schools in a March 2, 2021 election.

Guerneville merchants hosting holiday tree contest

Members of the Russian River Chamber of Commerce are partnering with other local businesses to host a first annual Downtown Collective Tree decorating contest. A dozen festive trees are now located in the backyard garden of Boon + Eat and masked visitors are invited to walk through the small grove of evergreens and vote for their favorites with the winners announced on Dec. 27 and the trees on display until Jan. 1.

Sebastopol’s Rotarians, Arts Center and VFW Post handing out holiday meal boxes on Christmas Eve

The Rotary Clubs of Sebastopol, the Main Club and the Sunrise clubs will be unable to host its annual community all-comers Christmas dinner this year and instead club members, along with the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, the Sebastopol Center for the Arts and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3919 will be assembling Holiday Food Boxes for free distribution on Christmas Eve at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts (282 S. High Street, Sebastopol.) Also supporting the giveaway is the Gold Ridge VFW Post.
