The Northern Sonoma County Fire District completed a prescribed burn near the 600 block of West Dry Creek Road yesterday evening and smoke will continue to be visible, possibly for the next few days, as vegetation continues to burn within the control lines.

Edwin Ruano, of Petaluma, doesn’t know how he and his family contracted COVID-19 in late March. “But as soon as we knew that we got it, we called everyone that was close to us the week before, he said. “And then everybody got scared and they all went to (get) tested and they all got positive.”

Food For Thought’s 19th annual fundraiser goes virtual to help hundreds with COVID-19, HIV, other conditions

Food For Thought’s 19th annual fundraiser is going virtual this year. The Forestville food bank’s funds help bring groceries to the front doorstep of many Sonoma County residents living with HIV, AIDS and now COVID-19, in addition to other serious illnesses. Food For Thought (FFT) provides free healthy meals, vitamins, supplements, nutritional counseling and groceries to over 2,000 clients, according to its website.

Wellness website aims to help Cloverdale students, parents

Addressing questions from families and students about where to find resources to address mental health, as well as financial assistance and support and community counseling, the Cloverdale Unified School District (CUSD)  has created an online resource center. The website, put together by the district’s wellness team, is a trove of resources and links that are both district and community-specific. The website will also be available in Spanish.
