Veterans Day Lunch, Nov. 8

The Cloverdale Senior Multipurpose Center hosted a Veterans Day lunch on Friday, Nov. 8, to honor those who have served.

With strike looming, district and teachers union go back to bargaining

UPDATE: Tuesday, Nov. 12, 5 p.m.: The West Sonoma County Union High School District has cancelled its Nov. 13 board meeting so as to concentrate on negotiations and budget challenges.

Long awaited fact-finders report divides teachers and district

UPDATE: After the paper went to press, union negotiator Brian Miller confirmed that, after meeting with the district during the day on Wednesday, Nov. 6, the union is planning to go on strike next Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Corazon launches Unity and Community fund for fire survivors

Corazon Healdsburg received a call on Oct. 23, the first night of the Kincade Fire, that the Healdsburg Community Center — where they have their facility — was going to become an emergency evacuation shelter.

What people took and forgot while evacuating

Sonoma West Publishers invited the newspaper’s Facebook friends to share what they took with them when they evacuated and what they accidentally left behind.

Back in action: new and rescheduled events

With the mass evacuations of Healdsburg and Windsor a wide range of activities from high school sports games to Halloween itself (and related activities) were disrupted. As normalcy returns to the area, several of those activities are preparing to have a do-over.
