Workshops provide first look at proposed river trail
On Oct. 23 the last of three planned workshops was held on a proposed 19.3 mile multi-use trail between Mirabel Park and Jenner. The high-speed River Road/Highway 116 corridor has a history of multiple pedestrian and bicycle accidents. The proposed trail is intended to provide a paved path separate from the roadway. The study’s stated goal “is to provide safe walking and bicycling access to communities, schools, businesses, parks and beaches, and other recreation opportunities along the river corridor.”
West county election results
Well, as my mother used to say, “It’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good.” In local fire district elections, fresh memories of the Kincade Fire spurred voters to approve measures in all four fire protection districts: Bodega Bay, Occidental, Graton and Gold Ridge, though the Gold Ridge measure is winning by the thinnest of margins.

The Sonoma County Farm Bureau is trying to provide assistance for agricultural producers affected by the Kincade Fire. They are providing guidance and funding for those experiencing losses as they navigate their way through the post-fire experience.
