Trees, sewers and delegates to be discussed at next council meeting
At the Sept. 2 meeting of the Windsor Town Council, up for discussion will be the town’s tree ordinance, a discussion of the sewer system, and delegates will be chosen for an upcoming event.
Windsor to ease development fees

Over winter break, Pete Sullivan, the Windsor Unified School District’s director of COVID mitigation, was looking at nearly as many active cases in Windsor High School students as he’d seen the entire fall semester. Twenty-eight high schoolers had confirmed, positive cases in the last week of 2021, compared to a total of 31 cases between September and December, with the high being a week with 16 active cases at once last fall.

The filing period for candidates in the Windsor Town Council’s upcoming special election to fill the fifth council seat opened Dec. 20, according to Town Clerk Irene Camacho-Werby.

With the mass evacuations of Healdsburg and Windsor a wide range of activities from high school sports games to Halloween itself (and related activities) were disrupted. As normalcy returns to the area, several of those activities are preparing to have a do-over.
Potential power shutoff this week
This morning, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) began 48-hour advance notifications to customers about a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in portions of 22 counties. Worsening dry conditions and expected high wind gusts pose an increased risk for damage and sparks on the electric system that have the potential to ignite fires in areas with dry vegetation.
