Council to consider approving amendment to water shortage contingency plan
The Healdsburg City Council has a short agenda on tap for its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18. However, the council will be looking at several important items, including an amendment to the Healdsburg Municipal Code updating the Water Shortage Contingency Plan, and the Project Homekey grant acceptance and purchase/sale agreement for the L&M Motel, the future site of the city’s interim housing site.
Healdsburg cancels boil water notice
The boil water notice has been canceled for all areas in Healdsburg that were affected by a water main break that occurred on Aug. 25 at the Mill District affordable housing construction site.
District board reviewing budget, staffing reductions
The Cloverdale Unified School District Board of Trustees’ regular meeting is this Wednesday, March 3. During the meeting, the board will receive the district’s second interim report, take possible action on reducing certain district positions for budgetary reasons and consider accepting the opening of contract negotiations for both the California School Employees Association and with the Teachers Association of Cloverdale for the 2021-22 school year. Additionally, the board will receive reports on Measure H progress, school reopening and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
Northern Sonoma County Fire District chief earns national wildfire mitigation award
Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District Chief Marshall Turbeville, who’s also a CalFire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit battalion chief, has been named as one of the three recipients of the prestigious National Wildfire Mitigation Award.

Flash flood watch issued, local agencies preparing for storm
Sonoma County and its corresponding public safety partners are preparing for the incoming atmospheric river that has prompted a flash flood warning for the county and for the burn scars of the Walbridge, Meyers, Glass and Kincade fires, areas which face the greatest threat of debris or landslides. The warning will be in effect through Thursday afternoon.
