Living Peace Wall ceremony canceled for the year

Sebastopol’s Living Peace Wall will have to wait another year for a new batch of inductees. The annual induction ceremony for the wall has been canceled and rescheduled for late August or early September 2021.

Walbridge fire lines holding, lack of resources still an issue

With burning conditions not as severe as seen in nights prior, fire crews have maintained the fire lines of the Walbridge Fire along Sweetwater Springs Road, however, despite a concentrated effort to contain the Stewarts fire burning at the heel of Lake Sonoma near Skaggs Springs Road, it is going to be allowed to burn into Walbridge in order to better allocate resources across the area, according to CalFire Division Chief Ben Nicholls.

Caltrans begins ADA ramp cut project

To take advantage of the reduced traffic in downtown Sebastopol due to shelter-in-place orders, and in order to minimize disruptions, Caltrans began Americans with Disablities (ADA) curb rehab work on May 4. The project is supposed to be completed by fall of this year. The concrete work will take an estimated six weeks and the work on the signals and poles will start after that.
