The filing period for candidates in the Windsor Town Council’s upcoming special election to fill the fifth council seat opened Dec. 20, according to Town Clerk Irene Camacho-Werby.

Four Windsor students attend youth leadership forum

This summer, Landon, Ryan, Zayne and Larson, all from Windsor, joined elementary school students from across the country to take part in an academic and career-oriented development experience, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Pathways to STEM. NYLF Pathways to STEM is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Healdsburg parks have reopened, with restrictions

After adjustments were made to the county parks order by Sonoma County Public Health Officer, Dr. Sundari Mase, Healdsburg parks reopened with limited access on April 29. While residents may be excited to venture back to parks, not all community members have access.

School board reviews district and LCAP budgets

At the June 12 Healdsburg Unified District School Board meeting district staff went over the preliminary budget for the LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) and budget impacts and outlooks for the district’s overall 2019-20 budget. Public hearings were held for the two items; however, there were no comments from the public.
