At the roadblock, police told her a firestorm was bearing down on her mother’s neighborhood in Berry Creek. Neither she nor her mother had received any evacuation warnings.
Sebastopol City Council adopts mid-year budget adjustments
The Sebastopol City Council received a mid-year budget review presented by Administrative Services Director Ana Kwong at the Feb. 16 city council meeting, unanimously approving a resolution to adjust the city’s adopted operating budget for the fiscal year of 2020-21.

Monte Rio property slated for county park and open space
Sonoma County Regional Parks purchased 515 acres of land in Monte Rio for future use as a county park and open space preserve. The $3.9 million purchase was approved by the county board of supervisors in August and the land was purchased in October.
City hall, library tagged with graffiti
The exterior walls of the Sebastopol Library and City Hall were tagged with several pieces of graffiti last Wednesday, July 1, or early Thursday morning. Most of the more offensive tags were removed but one “BLM” spray painted tag was still visible Thursday.
Police tangle with felon in downtown Graton
On April 4 at approximately 4:40 p.m., deputies responded to a call in the 8500 block of Trenton Road in Forestville. The caller reported a man and a woman came to the house earlier in the day making threats. The suspects had just returned, pointed a handgun at the caller, then drove away.
