School board to discuss Measure D bond projects, possibility of interdistrict transfers
The Healdsburg Unified School District Board of Trustees will be discussing several topics at its next meeting on April 20, including review of the citizen’s bond oversight committee Measure D — which was passed by voters in 2016, approving $67 million in funds for the Healdsburg Unified School District — annual report, the possibility of opening the district to limited interdistrict transfers and the local control and accountability plan.

Diaper Derby returns to Citrus Fair
The Cloverdale Citrus Fair’s annual diaper derby was back at it again this weekend, as some of Cloverdale’s youngest community members raced to the finishing line on Saturday, April 16. The one requirement for the derby is that participating babies be unable to walk — they can only crawl.
Sebastopol council considering amendments to parking ordinance, fine structure
During the next Sebastopol City Council meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m., the city council is slated to hold two public hearings — one to amend the language in the city’s parking ordinance, and another that seeks to introduce an increased parking fine structure for the city. Additionally, council members will receive presentations about Ives Pool and about the city’s Relaunch Sebastopol campaign, a report from the Committee for the Unhoused, and consider standard conditions of approval for development projects, merging the city’s Zero Waste and Climate Action committees, as well as potentially adopting the city’s Local Road Safety Plan, among other items.
Volunteers clean up over 800 pounds of trash in Dry Creek Valley
On April 4, volunteers picked up 836 pounds of trash, including eight tires, during the annual Dry Creek Valley trash pickup, which was organized in part by the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley, the Dry Creek Valley Association and the Russian Riverkeeper Clean Team.
Healdsburg council to consider water/wastewater rate increases, receive fire department update
The Healdsburg City Council will be considering water and wastewater rate increases and, among other topics, the approval of an ordinance approving a military equipment use policy for police services at its next meeting on Monday, April 18.
Healdsburg Jazz Festival returns to Healdsburg this June
The 24th annual Healdsburg Jazz Festival returns to Healdsburg June 13-19 and tickets for the popular event went on sale to the general public on Friday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at Healdsburgjazz.org.
