Healdsburg Museum opens new exhibit
The Healdsburg Museum recently opened a new in-person exhibit, its first since the COVID-19 pandemic, that looks back at the native peoples who have called the area home for countless generations.
Our overlapping droughts
It’s official: Sonoma County is now suffering through multiple droughts, all at the same time. Some are related to one another and some are not. Some are being worsened by the coronavirus pandemic and its related economic impacts. One of the droughts we can mostly blame on Mother Nature, but the others are totally on us.
School board reviews district and LCAP budgets
At the June 12 Healdsburg Unified District School Board meeting district staff went over the preliminary budget for the LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) and budget impacts and outlooks for the district’s overall 2019-20 budget. Public hearings were held for the two items; however, there were no comments from the public.
Food bank revs up virtual holiday food drive for locals with serious illnesses
Food For Thought, a nonprofit food bank, begins a virtual food drive to provide Sonoma County residents living with various serious illnesses the makings of a holiday meal.
