Jefferson Elementary teachers and staff drove around Cloverdale for a parade Wednesday morning, June 3. The car parade was a sunny-day sendoff for Jefferson students, who start summer break this week.Â
Windsor house fire damages two homes
A house fire on Pistachio Place in Windsor jumped from one home to a neighboring one, damaging both homes significantly and requiring the Sonoma County Fire District (SCFD) to reach out through their mutual aid agreements for help in putting the blaze out.
Inspiring potluck event for college-bound students

West County High activists ask for plaques removal
Students from West County High School (WCHS) have voiced their concerns over two plaques at the school they believe promote racism and xenophobia. An April 13 West Sonoma County High School District Board of Trustees meeting included an agenda item about the plaque removal request. Things change, things stay the same
Exactly two years ago, I wrote a commentary on this page declaring that I would be away from the paper on maternity leave for a few months and that I was leaving the paper in very capable hands while I was away. I wrote that while I would be stepping back from the endless deadlines and late night meetings, I knew I would be up against a different set of challenges as I gave birth to my first child.
