Sebastopol was not Sonoma County’s hardest hit by the major storm over the weekend, but Sebastopol Fire Chief Bill Braga said his department fielded over a dozen 911 calls for downed trees and powerlines and other weather-related emergencies during the weather events.

Nine girls from Windsor Girl Scout troop win Presidential Volunteer Service Awards

According to the Girl Scout Law, Girl Scouts must ‘Make the World a Better Place.’ This year, nine Girl Scouts belonging to Girl Scout Troop 11302 earned their Presidential Volunteer Service Awards, eight at the Gold Level and one at the Silver Level. The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) recognizes United States citizens of the United States who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period or cumulative hours over the course of a lifetime. Earning this award is a tremendous honor.

More planes over Healdsburg?

On July 11th the Healdsburg Transportation Advisory Commission called a special meeting to decide whether it should recommend that the city council approve or deny a commercial lease and concession agreement with Robert Markwood for a non commercial operator certified flight instruction and airplane rental service at the Healdsburg Municipal Airport.
