BurtoNZ Bakery products hitting Geyserville

Bobbi and Warren Burton have been pumping out baked goods at their local shop BurtoNZ Bakery in Windsor for more than five years. Their products have been tasted throughout the area in towns such as Cloverdale and Healdsburg and can be found in places like Amy’s Wicked Slush and Shelton’s Natural Food Market.

Commentary: Life Long Learning

In the Fall of 2002, I enrolled in a course titled "Greed and Corruption in Corporate America" through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Sonoma State University. We had recently moved to Sonoma County after I retired from practicing Pediatric Dentistry for 40-plus years in the Bay Area. The Enron scandal had just unfolded, and I wanted to better understand how capitalism works in this country and broaden my horizons in general. The course and the OLLi program changed my life. I have not looked back.

Healdsburg High School students demand higher teacher pay

Healdsburg High School students walked out of their classrooms at 10 a.m. on Feb. 19 and marched down to the Plaza demanding better teacher pay for teachers in the Healdsburg Unified School District. The march was led by HHS freshman class president,  Jackson Boaz, who led the crowd to the junior high school, the Plaza and around the roundabout.
