Planning commission reviewing Alexander Valley Wellness Center
On Tuesday evening, the Cloverdale Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing to discuss the Alexander Valley Wellness Center design review, conditional use permit and development agreement for Cloverdale’s proposed health care center. The facility is slated to be located on the corner of Cloverdale Boulevard and Citrus Fair Drive, in the currently vacant Thyme Square property. Proposed hotel sparks controversy among Healdsburg residents
Many Healdsburg residents are up in arms over a proposed four-story 16-room hotel — called Hotel Healdsburg Residences — that would be segmented into three separate buildings at 400, 412 and 418 Healdsburg Avenue.
Windsor looking for representative to serve on vector control district
Believe it or not, controlling one of mankind’s smallest pests requires no small amount of collective action. In the North Bay region, threats posed by mosquitoes — which can spread diseases like the West Nile virus — are mitigated by the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District, and the Town of Windsor is currently searching for applicants to serve as town’s representative on the board of trustees.

Arrest made after Sebastopol man drives hijacked truck into local business
A suspect believed to have seized a pickup truck from a Sebastopol business on Jan. 22 and then returned that evening to crash through the front of the building and steal money has since been arrested and released from jail, according to the Sonoma Sheriff’s Facebook on Jan. 24.
Cloverdale council supports sending fireworks to the ballot
The Cloverdale City Council voted 3-2 to support sending the issue of whether or not to prohibit the sale of safe and sane fireworks to the ballot Wednesday night, directing city staff to prepare an ordinance to put out to voters. Mayor Todd Lands and Councilmember Marta Cruz held the dissenting votes.
