District releases resources for students and staff facing sexual harassment or assault

It’s been an odd year for schools, with most districts having to enact plans and policies they likely could never have imagined previously. But at the April 20 meeting of the Windsor Unified School District Board of Trustees, they had yet one more unusual discussion — what resources are available for victims of sexual assault and harassment in the light of a very public conversations about those crimes being allegedly perpetrated by the town’s mayor.

Windsor Town Council requests position of mayor, creation of misconduct procedures be brought forward for discussion

Though he was absent from the April 21 town council meeting, in many ways Mayor Dominic Foppoli continued to loom large over proceedings. True to his statement last week, Foppoli stepped back from his mayoral duties and left the running of the town to his Vice Mayor Sam Salmon, and councilmembers Debora Fudge and Esther Lemus.

Windsor Town Council reviews lighting and landscape district assessments

At its meeting on April 21, the Windsor Town Council proceeded with the second of three meetings regarding the assessments of the town’s lighting and landscape districts. The districts help support the cost of maintaining parks, streetlights, street landscaping and the Windsor Senior Center. An increase in the assessment cost based on the cost of living index is being proposed and will be discussed at a public hearing on Jun 16.

Lawsuit filed against WSCUHSD over El Molino

The Community Alliance for Responsible Education (CARE) has filed a lawsuit against the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD) with the Sonoma County Superior Court over the board’s March 10 vote to consolidate Analy High School and El Molino High School into one school, or “close El Molino High School,” according to a press release sent to Sonoma West Times & News Thursday afternoon, April 22.
