Budget numbers better than anticipated, reach code decision pushed off for further review

Though there were three items on the agenda for the Nov. 18 Windsor Town Council, the meeting began with the report that one of the items, a first reading of a repeal of the town’s all-electric reach code, was being continued to a later date.

New limited stay-at-home order to go into effect Nov. 21

On Nov. 19 the state of California announced it was implementing a “limited stay-at-home order.” This order would restrict activities between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in all counties in Tier One/Purple of the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy metric. Restricted activities include all nonessential businesses and social gatherings. Restaurants would have to close to all but take-out and delivery by 10 p.m. each night. Essentially, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. it would be a return to early March restrictions.

The California State Association of Counties (CSAC), the statewide organization representing all 58 counties, elected Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore to serve as president of the association for 2020-21.

Low-income adults eligible for discount ride on SMART

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) announced Thursday that the commuter rail agency would begin participating in the new Clipper START pilot program, allowing lower-income adults aged 19-64 to receive a fare discount of 50% on the SMART system.

Applications for vacant school board seat due Dec. 4

The Cloverdale Unified School District released a new schedule for filling its soon to be vacant trustee spot on Wednesday. The revised timeline for appointing the position sets Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. as the new deadline for candidates to turn in applications, with candidate interviews and an appointment decision being made by the board of trustees during a public meeting on Dec. 15.
