County officials announce vaccine milestone, call for an increase in supply
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors sent a letter to the state on March 27, asking for an increase in vaccine allocations for the county. While county officials are emphasizing that county allocations of the vaccine have remained flat over the past month, it also announced this week that 25% of county residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 45% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

New retail license outlines restrictions for tobacco sales
The Sebastopol City Council approved the adoption of a tobacco retail license for the city at its most recent meeting on Sept. 15. Chief among the reasons an ordinance regulating tobacco sales and businesses was proposed is the increase of youth tobacco use through vaping.
County placed on monitoring list due to rising virus cases
Sonoma County was added to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s coronavirus county watchlist Friday, July 10, joining 29 other counties in the state, according to the county’s health officer, Dr. Sundari Mase. Being placed on the watchlist is one of the first steps in a series of actions that could have certain businesses in the county shutting back down in as soon as three days, should case numbers not improve.
