City’s newest lieutenant rose through ranks
Healdsburg’s newest police lieutenant, Matt Jenkins, 31, was promoted in early December. Jenkins was raised up from patrol sergeant after serving with the Healdsburg Police Department as an officer since May 2003. He celebrated his 10th anniversary on the force just last week.

School grounds are filling up at recess again as more students ditch virtual learning and return to brick-and-mortar classrooms. But for the many mothers who had to cut back on work during the pandemic as kids stayed home, back to school has not meant back to normal.
County library launching memory archive for 2020
The Sonoma County Library recently launched an online archival project meant to catalog the experience of living in the odd times of 2020. The project, titled “Sonoma Responds” is meant to encapsulate peoples’ experiences living through COVID-19, the Black Lives Matter movement and other various impacts on daily life.
