Group of dedicated local knitters organizing co-op to maintain Purls of Joy store

The founder and owner of the popular knitting shop Purls of Joy is retiring at the end of this month and, in an effort to keep the shop going and the friendly store spirit alive, a group of about 50 local knitters are working to form a member-driver co-op to maintain the business.

Healdsburg council to return to hybrid meetings on March 21

Starting March 21, the Healdsburg City Council will return to hybrid meetings, meaning people can attend the meeting in-person at City Hall or virtually via Zoom. Those who attend the meeting in-person will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status and social distancing measures will be implemented as well as a 50% capacity limit for the council chambers.

Cloverdale residents awarded President’s Volunteer Service Awards

At the most recent monthly meeting of the Cloverdale American Legion, two Cloverdale residents were presented the President’s Volunteer Service Awards for their work on behalf of the Northern Sonoma County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). 

HUSD set to receive $150,000 grant to help support students in A-G requirements

The Healdsburg Unified School District will be receiving a $150,000 allocation as part of the A-G completion improvement grant, which aims to provide schools with funds to help increase the number of high schools students, particularly foster youth, English learners and low-income students, who graduate with A-G requirements.

Sebastopol WALKS back on track for a community walk this Saturday

The first day trip of the Sebastopol WALKS program of 2022 is around the corner after being postponed for two years due to the pandemic. The public is invited to a three to four-mile stroll dubbed “Peace Poles Potpourri” this Saturday, Feb. 26 guided by Councilmember Sarah Glade Gurney.
