2022 preschool fair is back for Corazón
After having to pause their early childhood education event last year, Corazón Healdsburg’s preschool fair by Corazón Healdsburg. The 4th annual preschool fair will be happening this Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be held in the outdoor courtyard of the Healdsburg Community Center.
Castañeda’s Marketplace gives back to Windsor community
Sonoma County has several Mexican markets — a place where you can find a taqueria inside and your favorite items for cooking. Jose Castañeda, owner of Casteñeda’s Marketplace in Windsor, uses his market to also give back to the community through veteran breakfasts and themed appreciation days for teachers, law enforcement, high school graduates and more. He said he likes to give because he is always receiving — it is his way of returning the favor.
Farm to Pantry goes fashion forward with Gapelii partnership
Being able to collect nutritious food while wearing a t-shirt that is both comfortable and trendy is a win-win for Farm to Pantry. Gapelii Brand, a Sonoma County Black-owned luxury brand, was co-founded by Andrew Akufo in 2019 and features clothing and accessories. Through his work, he met Kelly Conrad, development director from Farm to Pantry. Conrad reached out to Akufo to collaborate and provide T-shirts for volunteers that could feature Gapelii Brand’s style and promote the organization.

Journalists have many essential jobs, and with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, we are witnessing their toughest assignment of all. Being a war correspondent is the life-risking assignment it looks like. The journalists now reporting from Ukraine these days are often in the line of fire with tanks rolling near them, scattered gunfire all around and war planes overhead. War correspondents answer to a select calling that requires bravery and a commitment to a mission that is closely aligned with the soldiers they share a battleground with.

Information guides for Town of Windsor special election going out Thursday
On March 3, Sonoma County voter information guides will be going out in the mail to nearly 16,000 Town of Windsor voters for a special election taking place on April 12 to fill a vacant at-large Windsor Town Council seat. This election only applies to Town of Windsor voters.
‘No Lucchetti, no school’: Students walk out in support of Washington principal
What was billed as a walkout by Washington School students became a run-out Wednesday, as approximately 150 to 200 students left campus at lunch to protest the absence of the school’s principal, Mark Lucchetti. When students saw Lucchetti standing at the end of Citrus Fair Drive, they raised their signs and ran toward him, swarming and chanting his name.
