Camila Salazar and Osmel Gonzalez were already a powerful duo before arriving in Healdsburg. But after two and a half years, they have not only found a community within their working family at Single Thread, but have created one of their own.
AVFilm is committed to bringing the big screen back to Healdsburg
AVFilm (previously known as Alexander Valley Film Society), an organization dedicated to the transformative power of film, is actively working to find a way to bring cinema back to Healdsburg. AVFilm has a vision statement that outlines the organization's focus on using film to impact, educate, empower and engage people of all ages in a way that is equitable for the entire community. As part of that mission, AVFilm is currently working on a feasibility study to determine the implications of re-establishing a theater in Healdsburg.
Eclectic Blues Americana band Dirty Cello to play at HopMonk Sebastopol
The unique Blues Americana rock band Dirty Cello has played in unusual venues across the globe, from a vacant fish factory to an American-themed festival in Iceland, the bottom of a cave and a nudist resort. Now, they’re coming to Sebastopol to play at HopMonk on March 11 and 12 in celebration of their new album, “Dirty Cello Smokes the 60s.”
‘Together we are more’: Corazón talks strategic plan and mission
In an emotional and insightful evening on Feb. 25, Corazón Healdsburg welcomed expectants to hear Chicano director Luis Valdez speak alongside Corazón’s own strategic plan announcement. With several personal statements and analogies to better describe the plans, Corazón staff members explained what the organization’s future goals are and how it plans to deliver them.
Friends of the Sebastopol Library book sale returns Sunday
The Friends of the Sebastopol Library book sale is back, charging a buck per book on Sunday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 4.p.m. Vice President Walt Frazer said it’s been two years since the last book sale was canceled in March 2020, gulped down with the rest of public life by the COVID-19 pandemic.
2022 preschool fair is back for Corazón
After having to pause their early childhood education event last year, Corazón Healdsburg’s preschool fair by Corazón Healdsburg. The 4th annual preschool fair will be happening this Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be held in the outdoor courtyard of the Healdsburg Community Center.
